UK’s Most Popular Hair and Beauty Trends of 2022

7 December 2022 by amber Leave a Comment

The latest beauty trends are changing constantly and it can be hard to keep up with them. One of the best ways to stay updated is by following some of the most popular beauty influencers on social media. They post about the newest products, tips and tricks, and more.  Beauty influencers are becoming more popular than ever these days. They’re not just famous for their appearances anymore – they’re also known for sharing their knowledge about all things related to beauty.  These people have a huge following on social media so you’ll never miss any of their posts. They provide advice about everything from the latest makeup trends to how to keep your skin healthy and glowing!  Another great way to stay in touch is to follow great hashtags or key brands who know about the cutting edge of the beauty niche.  Have a look at what hashtags your favourite beauty influencers are using to get some ideas.

From gel nails to lash extensions, lip fillers to balayage, Booksy, the free to use salon booking app, has recently unveiled just how customers in the UK spent their money to feel fabulous in 2022.

With the hashtag ‘#beautytrends2022’ on TikTok receiving over two million views, so this is well worth keeping up to date with – don’t forget to update your search each year to reflect the current year (otherwise you’ll be behind).  The salon booking app Booksy has asked its hair and beauty providers to reveal the top trends their customers have been loving in 2022.

Eastbourne-based nail extraordinaire and Booksy ambassador, Alice McNails revealed gel polish, builder gel, and gel extensions were the most popular treatments in her salon this year.

Alice, who is known for her exceptional nail art skills, said the top design trends of 2022 have been mix and match (a different design on each nail), celestial/galaxy and space themes, and coloured, check, glitter, or marble French tips.

Whilst Glam-ma City Manager Cass reported popular beauty treatments in her south west London beauty salon were lip fillers, eyelash extensions, and hair extensions.

Meanwhile, Jimmy, Manager of trendy Hackney hair salon WhiP said its most popular treatment was restorative hair treatment Olaplex, due to many clients having coloured hair.

Jimmy added that balayage (handpainted highlights) were also very popular as well as all over traditional highlights.

As for hairstyles, Jimmy says it’s been all about shorter hair regardless of gender. Popular styles included shag haircuts, mullets, shullets, and the preppy shorter at the back with longer floppy bangs paying homage to Hugh Grant’s Four Weddings and a Funeral hair-do.
