With the temperature rising across the UK, hair and beauty booking app Booksy has been inundated with customers looking to don the latest summer nail trends.
From colourful swirls and pretty pastels to Tutti Frutti French tips, customers are rushing to salons to up their summer nail-game. The search term “coloured French tips” was +300% last week according to Google trends, with “swirly nails” also up a huge +90%.

Booksy ambassador and nail artist extraordinaire Alice McNails said: “This summer my clients have been loving colourful nails, with bold brights and punchy pastels proving a big hit. The forever popular French tip is very much still a firm favourite but in an assortment of Tutti-Fruity colours.
“The negative space nail still prevails, a natural nude base with colourful swirls, abstract dashes reminiscent of an artist’s palette or 60’s style Mary Quant flowers.”
Alice adds: “I’m also having a lot of requests for futuristic 3D nails in oil spill chromes or slick high shine finishes. Popular colour combos include cobalt blues mixed with zesty tangerines, lavender and mint soft pastels and delicate translucent nude shades and milky whites.”
Lianne Carty, Booksy merchant and owner of Lillydoll Nails said: “We’re seeing loads of nail art at the moment, especially crocodile print and swirls. Smile lines are also a big hit and chrome is making a comeback!”
