How To Get Ready For A Valentine’s Date

8 February 2023 by amber Leave a Comment

No other day in the year is perhaps quite as exciting to have a date planned for as Valentine’s Day. Not only is this the most romantic time of year, but there will also be plenty of things to do, so if you don’t want to sit in a restaurant and chat, you’ll certainly be able to find other romance-inspired events taking place nearby.

No matter what it is you do on your date, you’re going to want to make sure you’re ready for it. This can feel daunting, no matter whether you often date or you don’t go out very much. After all, on Valentine’s Day, people do tend to make an effort. With that in mind, here are some things to remember when you get ready for Valentine’s.

Relax

Even if you’re really excited about your date, you’ll probably feel nervous too. It’s great to meet new people and do new things, but that can be scary, and it’s not uncommon for everyone – both men and women – to feel anxious about the evening to come. Unfortunately, this can mean that they don’t enjoy themselves too much, and they waste their chance of having a good time.

This is why it’s a good idea to relax as much as possible before your date. Take a long soak in the bath or enjoy a nice shower (this will make you feel more relaxed and make sure you smell good at the same time!), watch a movie, go for a walk, play a game, or do whatever it is you need to do to calm yourself down.

Think About Your Outfit

Everyone has been in this situation; you’ve waited and waited for something exciting to take place, and then suddenly, the time has arrived, and it takes you by surprise. You’re just not ready, and then you panic. For the men out there looking for a stylish outfit for their Valentine’s Day date, Oxford has a great range of options that are sure to impress.

To stop this from happening to you when it comes to your Valentine’s date, make sure you choose your outfit well ahead of time. If you’re buying something new, you can have some fun going shopping and really take some time to consider what you’ll wear. If you’re wearing clothes you already have, set some time aside to look at your potential outfits and then consider the different combinations and accessories that might work for you too. Settle on an outfit and have it clean and ready for your date, and you won’t run the risk of panicking or being late.

Get A Makeover

Whether or not you opt for this idea will depend on how much you like to be pampered, how much you want to impress on your date, and how much you want to treat yourself – a makeover can help calm your nerves, which, as we know, can be a problem.

If you do want to get glammed up, book your appointment as soon as you know you’ll be going on a date, as you might find there are no slots left for you (especially around Valentine’s Day).

Speak to a stylist, get your hair done, have a makeup artist do your makeup, and perhaps you even want to try clear retainers in the weeks leading up to the date (and continue to use them afterward for straight teeth). What you do is your choice, but if it makes you feel good and confident, go ahead.
